How to tell if egg bound?

Okay. If you put your hand on the outside of her belly where you feel the lump, is it hot?

I just went and felt it again and no, it’s not particularly hot. It does seem larger than before though. Could it be water belly?

Put your hands on either side of her vent, like to cup around it, not touching it. Just feel the left and right side of her vent area with the palms of your hands.

Is that sort of hot to the touch as in warmer than other areas, and feel like it's swollen?

Ok, I just did. Her vent does not feel hot or swollen. There is some white discharge but that happened when I put the Vaseline in and around it. Her belly, which is swollen and hard, also does not feel hot.

Then it's probably not water belly. Go ahead with the calcium though, and as soon as possible.

I'd also do vitamins like we use Poultry Cell for their water. A little vitamin boost might help if it's something totally different here, but it really does sound like it could be egg-binding.

A white discharge could mean vent gleet but that would have been more noticable by you earlier and doesn't cause the symptoms you stated.

I also have some rooster booster in water available to her. I haven’t given her any food, mostly bc she’s sleeping whenever I’m not fondling her but also because I’m worried if I feed her when she can’t poop it’ll make it worse. Is there anything else I can do?

Yeah, I saw the discharge come out when I had my finger in her vent. I was hopeful that it meant the egg was coming but no such luck

You can still feed her, but I'd make it only her crumbles or pellets for now and water. She might not eat though. You could make her a mash out of the feed with some water in it. She'd probably like that. I'd break a Tums in two and give both halves to her so she gets that in her system faster. It'll take her a long time to consume the Tums diluted in her water, though that was a good idea.

Put the Tums right in her beak, she can swallow it. If you put it in water she has to drink ALL the water to get the full dose, and she probably won't drink all that. A chicken can swallow a whole mouse or frog, lol. Now I really am gone!
