How to tell if internally pipped without bothering drying ducklings

In 4 hours it will be day 29 for my duck eggs. 8 of 11 have hatched so far, pretty sure one of the eggs is dead because I haven’t seen movement from it in a week or so. The other two unhatched eggs have not externally pipped, not sure if they have internally pipped. Is it possible to candle them without disturbing or harming the 8 ducklings in the brooder? I can’t candle the eggs without opening the brooder and I don’t want to chill them or shrink wrap the eggs, but am a little worried they might run out of air in their shells or that they might be having trouble getting out. I can’t tell if the eggs are peeping or not because the ducklings are peeping as well.

Opening the incubator (where the eggs are hatching) briefly will not hurt the ducklings. You could even move them to a brooder (where you plan to keep the young birds ) Just make sure the humidity comes back up for any still hatching. It is not unusual for a couple eggs to hatch more than 24 hours after the others.

Ok, thank you so much. I will move the ducklings (they all look dry and fluffed out)to the brooder and leave the eggs be.
