So,I have 13 chicken eggs that are about seven days old. I was naturally incubating them under a hen, but one of the eggs broke and covered the other eggs. I then proceeded in washing the eggs in soapy water. That was about three days ago and today when I was candling one of the eggs I saw a small line around the embryo and a small hair line fracture on the opposite side, is it still growing or is this a blood line.

Can someone please help I really would like to know so I can know if I need to remove the egg before it starts to stink or bust.thank you in advance.

Are you seeing movement at all? If I were you, I think I would just pitch them all and start over. You've washed the bloom off the eggs, which isn't too terrible in a sterile incubator environment, but its not terribly clean under a hen.

Anyway, if you're wanting to keep them, leave them a few days and check again at day 10. If they're still alive you should see a noticeable change. They're not going to go rotten and explode in just a few days. Good luck!
