We have a Few Pekins that I have caught in the chickens nesting boxes a couple times lately. I'm pretty sure that is going to end up where she will lay (she is 20 weeks) and I really will have no idea it is chicken or duck egg. We gave her a nest on the ground, but she never goes in it, and prefers the nests that are 2ft off the ground. How will a duck egg look compared to a chicken egg. We have chickens that lay everything from chocolate to blue. From tiny to extra jumbo.

Duck eggs feel waxy you can actually take your fingernail and scratch off the wax [for lack of a better word] and the egg shell is hard too. Pekins lay white eggs also.

My ducks lay green eggs that are the size of chicken eggs and so do my Easter Eggers but they are easy to tell apart. The duck eggs are smooth and the shell is oily while the chicken eggs are porous and more chalky. Also, the duck eggs are transparent when I candle them while the chicken eggs are dark when candled.
