How to tell what chicken laid which egg

I can tell who in my flock lays what just from watching over the years and taking a good look at the egg. They will lay pretty much the same color and shape and size as they normally do.

Another way is to close the hen in the nestbox using a frame covered in hardwarecloth or chicken wire.
But don't forget to only leave the nest egg in the box and check on her several times while she is in the nestbox so not to forget about her being trapped.
