How to tell?????

Okay so I have 27 hens and 6 roos I want some of their eggs to hatch but im not sure yet how to tell is they are fertilized. Do i just assume all of them have been fertilized or what?

With 6 roos, you should assume that all the eggs are fertilized (that is if they're adults). It's usually recommended that there be 1 roo for every 10-12 hens, so you should be good! Once the eggs are being incubated, you can candle them to tell which are developing properly.

What is the cidar vinegar for? How do you tell the males from the females as babys? whose the best to order baby chicks from?

I don't know what cider vinegar is good for but you can tell the hens from roos because roos start to grow spurs and start learning how to crow. I order chicks from www.mcmurray.com and www.idealpoultry.com
