How to train to roost in tress

Quote:
Yah, with your schedule it probably isn't very easy dealing with helping your Guineas learn and establish a routine. Guineas are flock oriented and they do better in numbers (I never sell less than 6 keets, but always suggest more because of this), so my guess is that they still want to be close to "their flock" (the turkeys and/or chickens they were raised with). If you do decide to get more Guineas, I'd house them in a coop/covered run situation by themselves for a while before you free range them, so they do not bond with any of your other poultry, only with each other. I'd also put the roosts up as high as is safely possible in the Guinea's coop, which might encourage them to roost high in the trees once you do start free ranging them. One more thing to consider is that if you just get more Guineas and turn them loose, without locking them up for a few weeks, they will probably just fly away and not stick around (and probably get eaten very quickly).

Best of luck, hope it works out for you.
