How to treat mites with Sevin?

I've dusted my hens with Sevin to try to rid mites from them and the coop. Do I have to worry that Ill get too much on them or in the coop? I cannot get rid of mites. It's crazy and yes I know they are mites. Please, any advice? Thanks

Make sure you are dusting really well all the way to their skin and all over, especially under the wings and around the vent. Clean and disinfect your entire coop really well and discard and replace all bedding. Mites can live in wood and bedding. You will need to redust every 7-10 days as the eggs hatch because the dust only kills live bugs.
