OK you lubed up lot - what do I do - it is raining non stop here so there is lots of mud (so will it not just wash straight off??) plus can't catch them all plus honestly a bit scared to pick up my roos (embarrassing admission ) so what would you do - go the medication or attempt to do the manual treatment?

Lower the perch so you can get the rooster at night and then have a go with the Vaseline.

It should also give you some confidence with handling your rooster. Honestly, most are nice.

Also, if you're scared of your roosters, assuming you don't just need time to get comfortable, is there a reason why you want to keep them at all? Can't imagine scaly leg mites would affect how edible they were. I love roosters, but if you don't enjoy them, don't keep them. Life's too short for that.
