@Ninjasquirrel find a good pair of gloves that fit. That will help. Get the tetanus shot now if needed - as there will be more opportunities to mess with metal with regards to rearing chickens.

Use a conventional staple gun, then go back over with the fencing staples. It frees up your hands and makes the job way easier.Yup those evil things![]()
I told this to my SO...but no...I couldnt convince him otherwiseUse a conventional staple gun, then go back over with the fencing staples. It frees up your hands and makes the job way easier.

Step one: buy chicken wire...easy enough.
Step two: unroll the chicken wire.
Step three: scream bloody murder as it springs back and cuts your hand.
Step four: find something heavy to hold the unrolled wire down
Step five: try to staple it in place with poultry wire staples
Step six: bash your hand with the hammer.
Step seven: suck your thumb in pain only to let go of the wire and have it spring back at you again
Step eight: reconsider getting chickens
Step nine: wonder if you have tetanus
I do these types of things by myself - only not with chicken wire, but hardware cloth.![]()

I did. Lol. Especially when it is freezing outside! And I'll bet you followed rule eleven.![]()
