I bought some grit at the feed store and gave it free choice...they peck at it and eat their food as they wish...
...I gave them meal worms today...and at first they were not sure, but then the BR got it and boy was she quick to grab it from the BO chick, so I took her out and let the BO learn to eat the worm on her own, until she was at the same level & speed as the BR, then put them back together and watched...put two worms on a tray and they both got one, and then went running around like insane crazzzzed nut jobs trying to find a place to set it down and do the whole pecking, getting it in position biz...but neither was going to let go of their prize...so they both ran around with a worm in their mouth for a while...then as soon as the BR ate hers, she ran over to try and snake the BO's...but the BO went straight to biz and gobbled up that worm as fast as fast could be...it was a riot!
I'm going to try a cricket tomorrow...the pet shop gave me about 6 TEENY TINY ones for free to give it a try...I'm waiting for tomorrow because I'd rather do that one OUTSIDE, incase it gets away! LOL
