How to winterize my pen (Need help)

I read a bit on how to winterize coops, but here's what I've got for the little ones.

I've got some Peafowl, Chickens, Guineas and Turkeys. They're starting to get cold, huddle, and get under the lamp for the littles. The Turkeys and Peafowl are too big f

or that, one almost caught on fire :/ (Yeah, that's an issue, I need to fix it)

So, down below the picture. Chicken wire and small birds and some large birds. Open roof and a heat lamp with extension cord. The dimensions are 10'x12'x5' or so (90% sure it's that, but I can measure it) with NO roof, and the roof is even taller. Umm, so basically, what do you suggest I do? I have a virtually unlimited amount of OSB to work with, but what else?

The run looks beautiful! Winterizing is very dependent on climate where you live. For me, I just turn off the fan. I didn't see a coop for the chickens? Do you have roosts and private nest boxes? Wind breaks? IMO, If you'll provide a coop and some shelters, you won't need heat lamps. Heat lamps in that open area would provide little warmth.

Where are you located?

How old are the littles? how long will they still need heat?

At the minimum you'll need a rain/wind break. This can be enclosing a corner of the structure, or constructing an enclosed area inside the coop. Unless you're in an extreme weather area, I'd not worry about heat at all. Your nice tall roof gives you a wonderful amount of ventilation and will help keep your moisture down.

In the winter, I wrap my coop with clear plastic. Light can come in into the run and the wind is blocked

@Mutt Farm, Thanks, we built it ourselves.

And no, no coop. We have a tarp with perches and egg boxes. The coop will come next , I have a very bad habit of buying more birds than I have room for.

I live in East Texas. Winters are mild compared to up North, but we still get freezing days.

We have a small Barnish thing (Work in progress ) that we can put the big ones if it gets real bad )

The smallest ones are week old guineas. Some days are getting chilly. I usually keep them with heat untill they're fully feathered and put some weight on.

I was actually going to put up OSB outside, tack ot on the frame. In Winter, keep it up as a Windbreak, and in Summer (and good weather), take it off and let them enjoy the day.

@farmermac Wow, that's looks intense. Look at that snow. I don't think I'll see that much here.

Also, Plywood is 4 ft wide (heights in this case), if I made it go all the way around, would 4 ft tall be enough or would it have to go as high as the roof?

I don't know why you did not get reply notice. I hit the reply button. We don't, get a lot of snow here in VA but it gets cold.

Virginia huh? I've never seen snow like that here, Dallas gets more than we do, but it must ge a combination of our longitude and proximity to the ocean that prevents it.
