Hello and Welcome To BYC! You might want to ask in the Silkie thread https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/297632/silkie-thread It shouldn't matter if the hen is bantam or large fowl as long as she is silver based, just would depend on what size you are breeding for. For a sex link dad has to be gold based (silkie) and the female silver based bird (sussex). The female chicks will inherited the gold from the dad and the boys will look silver (white) like their mum. White Silkies (are a gold based white usually) or Reds, Buffs or gold Partridge I think are used also for dads.
