So my new coupe has been doing great for the past month or so. With daily temps floating around freezeing it always seems to be 6-10 deg above that. (solar heat)

so when the outside temp is say 38, and coupe temp is....nearly 50.... are the girls going to mind with a full coat of winter feathers?

as far as i can tell the water'r hasnt frozen yet dispite some nights in the 20's.

Note this is without a heat lamp, but i am useing a 60w light bulb to give them some more "light" in the morning (comes on about 4 am, shuts off at dusk, )

the really cold (single digit nights) usually dont arive around these parts till jan.

50's no problem. Nor is the 30's really. Now when summer rolls around, I'd see if you can't ventilate it and keep it under 75 or so. My birds all start to pant and lay in moist dirt when it reaches about 75 here... They don't do well in heat.

oh well venting will be easy, the shape of the coupe lends it to self venting, (and warming in the winter) as the large windows (currently plastic) will just be hardware cloth durring the summer giving them plenty of ventilation.

pluss we have a prevaling breeze out of the SW on the property and thats the direction the window's face. (for the vent, breeze in the summer, and good solar heating in the winter)

oddly enough i cant find a recent "finished" pic....

but hears one that shows the large windows (or what will be by next spring)
