How well did your first ever hatch turn out?

I just finished my first hatch - 38% - was hoping for 50% but I'm happy with it considering.

All eggs were shipped - some were left out in the snow by the post office.

My issue was I couldn't get the humidity up for lock down. Lost 22 eggs because they were too dry to hatch.

My very first hatch was from shipped Bargain eggs in a LG with a turner. The LG was given to me, but the styrofoam was damaged and I was afraid I wouldn't be able to hold the humidity for the lockdown so I scrambled to throw together a hatcher for lockdown. That hatch turned out to be 50%, which I was thrilled with. Since then I have build an incubator and a different hatcher and from that I have incubated 3 other batches of eggs. Some of my own and more shipped and kinda local pickup.
I have had great hatches with my home made machines, so I am happy. They are working great I have 12 more to go into lockdown tomorrow and I have 24 more shipped eggs coming this week and more after that and more and more and more. This is a terrible addiction.

My first ever hatch was with quail....it turned out to be a complete failure. Humidity kept skyrocketing, temperature kept spazzing out, and I ended up hatching 7/100.

Not good odds. My second hatch was with chickens... 50% hatched...and out of those 5 only 2 lived. Well, my third hatch was much better (quail again) and they were shipped eggs. I hatched 37/45. Not bad that time...and now I have a new, better incubator on order.

We just finished my first hatch in my homemade incubator and if you don't count all the infertile eggs....

We had 26 hatch out of 38 eggs.. Not too bad but I'm tweaking a couple of things on the incubator that I think will make it better for round two that will start Wednesday..

Out of 12 eggs 7 hatched than a couple days later I lost one. So now I have 6. I was so sad for the one that passed. But happy I got what I did. We now have 24 in. Good luck

I just finished my first chicken egg hatch two weeks ago. 30 out of 60 in shipped eggs, that includes not fertile ones. 20 out of 23 on my own eggs, again including not fertile ones.

I had two incubators going and if I go from what I had at lock down, I got 24 out of 26 from one and 26 out of 30 from the other.

I am pretty happy with that.

I haven't read through all the posts, yet, but here's my breakdown from my very first hatch (hatched last Wednesday).

Keep in mind, my rooster had 30 girls to keep happy - so my fertility was going to be low.

I set 21 eggs, on day 7 I had 13 fertile eggs.

Of the 13 fertile, 11 hatched (I assisted one).

Of the 11 that hatched, 10 survived (the one that I assisted died today
