How/where do you store your eggs?

This maybe a silly question from a newbie... but it seems that some keep eggs at room temp while others chill the little buggers, is there a "best" way?

Fridge.

The wire thingie is inventive and clever - until somone bumps it. Youll need a rail on either side, at least part way up the side of the egg.

I was thinking the same thing. The first time someone bumps it all the eggs will go a-tumblin'.

I keep eggs in the refrigerator.

Where do you think people kept their eggs before there was an ice box or electricity in every house and a refrigerator?

Eggs will keep for up to 6 weeks on your kitchen counter in a cool spot. If you cook with them you will find they cook much better having never been refrigerated.

Mine barely last a week in my basket and what few are left I boil them for my hens and feed them back.

Where do you think people kept their eggs before there was an ice box or electricity in every house and a refrigerator?
In 'water glass', if they were to be stored for longer than a few weeks.

I store them right in my tummy where they belong.

I keep mine in a basket on the counter (unwashed of course) if they are going to be used up in a week or so. We are not, howevver, big egg eaters. So, if they are going to be around much longer than that they go in the fridge.

We found that horizontal storage took up way too much space so we clean out big cottage cheese or yogurt containers and stack the eggs in them. Each takes at least a dozen eggs. Then we place the containers left to right on the counter according to age. If we accumulate three containers on the counter, we give away the oldest container.
