How would I transform this outdoor cat house into a poultry coop?

I am planning to buy this to either house chickens or pigeons. My main concern is the roofing. How would I make the roof waterproof so water doesn't go inside during the winter? I don't want this to look tacky if I just throw a shower curtain over the roof.

I will also spray the wooden frames with an outdoor sealant to protect it from UV light and water.

I'd check at your local lumberyard, and take a copy of this diagram with you. They'll fix you up with what you need to cover and seal that roof, maybe corrugated panels and a ridgeline to cover the peak.
