How would you know if you injected chicken in vein?

I've been injecting my EE who is suffering from egg yolk peritonitis for what seems like forever. She's on a two week 2x daily course of antibiotics. This is my first time getting used to administering injections, and of course, after a week of things going smoothly, I dropped my guard and forgot to check whether I hit a vein before injecting. I noticed a pinprick amount of blood upon pulling the needle out (which I hadn't seen before), and the site turned a bit red under the skin. I'm so worried I injected in her vein!

How would I know if this occurs and what would happen? She seems fine an hour later. Has been scratching around and eating/drinking. The bleeding stopped immediately, and I can't find the redness. I keep checking on her paranoid she's going to drop dead 😥

I hope she is ok!

I do not give chickens injections but have given them to our cats LOL!

Maybe @casportpony can help you
