I agree with mom. I don't know that much about silkies, but I have read several posts and have never heard of the possibility of getting a showgirl from breeding 2 pure SQ silkies. If I'm wrong,someone will say so. Nothing wrong with show girls,but you did not pay for those kind of chickens. I agree that a breeder cannot guarantee SQ chicks,but when you advertize the eggs come from SQ stock, I think the buyer has a reasonable expectation that they will be at least up to breed standards and 4 toes(even with my limited knowledge) is not breed standard for a silkie. If this breeder has any integrity at all, he/she will give you a full refund as well as more eggs along with profuse apologies.
Color and hatching rates may be partially the sellers fault,but with all the variables involved,I would not be too upset about that. Maybe a little disappointed that they did not at least explain why they sent the colors they did,but not the biggest issue by far.
