Im not sure if this is in the right place. But, what age do pullets start to go broody. I have a silkie pullet, who is going on 11 weeks. How long until she will go broody. And another question. Not a 100% sure that it is a she, how can I tell? Thanks, -Jay

Silkies are the hardest to sex. I only knew my two were girls because a cockeral I had kept trying to mount them. You may have to wait until they either crow or lay an egg.

Eleven weeks is wa-ay too soon for her to go broody. As the other poster said, at LEAST 5 months although I'm sure there are exceptions.

My silkie is setting on eggs right now she was 27 weeks old was broody at 25 weeks I gave in.
