Howdie! I am from KY, right outside our state capital (no not Louisville) Frankfort. I keep an eye on legislation and if it deals with animals (especially chickens) you can bet I am "on the hill bending ears"! lol Yep a lot of the "good ol' boys" know me. I have a small farm, about 10 acres I am allowed to live there cause I have an opposable thumb and know how to open the feed bin. lol I spend my days managing a small feed store so I am well versed in feeds and if I do not know the answer I have two nutritionists to call upon. Animal wise, I have goats, Alpines (5), a boer X, and two miniture dwarf pygmies. Right now I have 75 chickens, 50 of which are babies, we had a problem with CRS last fall that caused devistation to my flock of Arracaunas. I had to have them all killed and now I am starting over again. After several gallons of bleach and Ken L Lan disenfectant. Never again! Now anything that is new to my flock goes through 2 months of quarentine! We have 4 turkeys, and 4 guineas as well. I have 3 rescued inside birds with one handicap or another. I have many American Pitbull Terriers (remember Petey on the Little Rascles?) that are mainly rescues. Two Jack Russels Margie and Daisy who tell the APBTs what to do and keep them in line. Sweetest dogs in the world. The occational mouse and other wild critter that I try to discourage from living in my house, one husband (Thank the good Lord he let me find you.), 3 grown children and 3 gifts from the Lord Almighty called Grand-children. Yep it is true, if I knew Grandkids were going to be this much fun I would have skipped the kids altogether and gone straight for the Grand kids!
I milk my goats and am learning to make cheese (never will buy mozzarella from the store again) and soap. I also spin and am learning to weave. Now all I have to do is add about 20 hours to the day and I might have enough, I am vertically challenged yet I am horizontally enhanced. Now you know all there is to know about me. How about you?

Well hello there, welcome from South Carolina! I just had some visitors from KY last week or so, nice folks and I could understand their talk.

We ate all the shimp around, lol.

They're BYCers too, so triple the fun. Sounds like you have 10 acres high in entertainment value!
