Congratulations on your farmhouse and getting back to chicken keeping. It's great you had the biggest item on the checklist already there and it just needed refurbishing. Good luck with the chicks when they arrive. BTW, consider a brooder plate or momma heat pad instead of heat lamps.

Thanks dobie lover! I am considering both actually. The heat lamps scare me as a fire hazzard and also seems a little too much for the chicks. In a natural setting with a brood hen, there would be no heat lamp...
