Hello, I have always wanted chickens and I decided now was as good a time as any to take the plunge. So my first question is this: How can I tell if my chicks are hens or roosters?
Thank you for any and all help!

Hi and welcome to BYC. As fairly new myself, I am so thankful to find this place. There are so many helpful people and everyone is so nice.

Sorry I can't answer your question. But I know you'll have your answer soon.

I don't have pictures of the little ones yet, but they are both developing "tail feathers"--does that mean anything regarding their sex? I can't have roosters in the city and I am getting really attached to these littles!! If they end up being roosters, I have a good home for them where my Dad keeps his horses, so no matter what they will have a good home, I just really hope they are hens. (fingers crossed!!)

from Ohio. So glad you joined. If they start getting saddle feathers, then you have a roo. You can't go by just the comb size. Some hens have very large combs.
