Hey ya'll; I'm glad you're here. My wife and I started talking about the possibility of thinking about maybe getting chickens and our daughters (four of them) made us swear we'd get them. It didn't take much coercion, but it does take a fair amount of know-how. This is a great resource and I'm soaking up as much as I can as fast as I can. The incubator arrives this weekend, and we've got Delaware eggs on order that should be here weekend after next. Wish us luck. If all goes well, I'll be posting chick pics the end of next month.

Good luck with your hatch.

Welcome. You've found the best place to be. Although a word to the wise. When building your coop, build it for twice as many chickens as you say you will have. Trust me on this one! If you are thinking of only getting two, build the coop for six. Because sooner or later this place gets to you and you will be hooked! Did you happen to go on the Funky Chicken Coop Tour there in Austin? A coworker and I went and we had a blast!

Welcome neighbor!!

You've definitely come to the right place, this forum has taught me so much!

Good luck on the hatching, but fair warning....it can become an addiction!

from a former Austinite. Now I'm homesick all over again!

Good luck with the Delawares, they are wonderful chickens to have.

P.S. Please send a Sun Harvest or HEB store to me. Thanks!
