Just picked up 5 babies (3 buff orpingtons and 2 barred rocks) yesterday from our local tractor supply! I'm very excited to get going on coop design and construction (or "coop-struction" as I've been calling it) and to start my mini farm! If anyone has any great coop wisdom, I'd love to hear it. But I'll be sure to check out the appropriate forum as well.

Hi and welcome to BYC! Congrats on your little ones - now the fun begins! I'd say there are as many coop designs as there are BYC members and each have their merits. I personally like the garden shed approach (cos I've got one and I'm lazy, among other reasons) as they give one considerable flexibility in terms of interior design - but thats just my opinion.

I wish you all the best with your mini-farm and your coop.
