A Big Howdy to you all, and thanks for the warm greeting when I signed on!
thanks
I was born and raised in South Central Kansas in Harvey, Marion, and Butler Counties. When I was in the early grades (first thru fourth) my chores included feeding the chickens, gathering the eggs, and helping butcher when the broilers got big enough.
<crowing> I could keep up with grandma at picking a chicken at age nine! <no more crowing>
Since moving to East Texas, marrying, and starting my family, I had a mixed flock for my boys to take care of. But momma also got attached to them. Eggs for ourselves, and widows at church. ..... until the neighbor's dog... you all know the refrain, I'm sure.
Looking forward to joining you all, and will soon have a new thread on the breeds, genetics, and showing forum.
Thanks again
