(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? I have had chickens for many many years! I got my poultry passion start as a girl on my grandmother's farm. One lovely large mixed breed hen was my bestie, and I have since been a Crazy Chicken Lady.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? I hacve 186 chikens of roughly 15 breeds/variations.
(3) What breeds do you have? Plymouth Barred Rock, Salmon Favorelle (Standard), Cochin (LF), Brahma, Maran, Ameraucana, Cream Legbar, Polish (Standard and Bantam), Silkie (Beared & Non Bearded Bantam), Orpington, Wyandotte.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? The interactions and teaching others about the wonderful world of chickens.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? Gardening, Sewing, Cooking & Classic Cars
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. - We are a family of three, with a love for critters. We have 6 dogs of various breeds, 186 chickens, 4 turkeys, and we love and support out local wildlife too.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
- Found on FB, and online using a general search. I have followed threads for learning over the years, and I have finally joined! (Yay go me!)
