Just wanted to say hello & share my brief information. My name is Amanda & I've finally started raising chickens after endless hours of reading and questions. I have 7 Buff Orpington pullets that are a little over a week old, and I also have 5 Production Red pullets that are about 3 weeks old. (Most probably figured correctly that this is my layer flock)
This is a journey for me and I'm enjoying every second thus far. I decided that I wanted to begin raising chickens for several reasons: eggs, eventually freezer meat, my childrens' 4H shows, pets, and for the benefits with them for depression and anxiety.
I'm located in Southeastern Indiana. This is my very first flock. Luckily only have a couple with pasty butt, and that's clearing up. So excited to join this community for like minded fellowship as well as it's wealth of information. Thanks for having me.
