Hi! I'm kiwi342. Thanks for letting me join! I have perfect tiny flock of four, one of which is a turkey. I used to show Cochins, but have been completely chicken-less for a few years. I'm so happy to be back in the game. I missed my babies so much.

Hi Kiwi, glad you are back with a poultry flock. Welcome to Backyard chickens, glad you joined us. What breeds do you have now?

Thanks! Right now I have one big black turkey, a little gold laced cochin pullet(at least I believe she is a cochin), and what appears to be a golden brahma cockerel. I also just fell in love with and brought home a Polish/Turken mix pullet. I just picked her up this morning. She's black based, with a smattering of gold laced feathers, has a naked neck and a full head of "hair". I hope my three like her! I am keeping her inside under quarantine for a little while and to get her handled. She's really scared right now.

What I want is to get back into Cochins. I bough GL hatching eggs from a local source and ended up with only two, my hen and the brahma. They are all perfect for the time being.

Hah, I love her. Isn't she beautiful!

I love all four of them. The turkey acts like Mr. Bad until he sees me. Then it's peepeepeep like a baby. He is my first turkey and he is one of the best birds I have ever raised. I feel like I really missed out in not having them. He adores my hen and tolerates the rooster. They get along well but I have noticed my rooster is bare legged on the left. Lol. To be fair the rooster tries to perch on the turkey since he is currently the tallest point in the cage. When I'm in there he jumps up and perches on my shoulder. My dainty little hen is pampered by both of them. She's a spoiled little thing.
