Morning BYC!
I've been reading here for months now and really enjoy the fellowship and learning. You all seem to truly care about one another and your animals.
I brought home 4 hens this April, just a month before the horrific flooding around Nashville. Saved them all, and since have added one. They are more entertaining than any sitcom I've ever seen, and far more family friendly, too! There's not a single purebred among them ~ 2 silkie mixes and 3 large girls. I love to see them bounding across the yard when I call wuuuhoooo!. Learned quickly not to wear sandels around them (toes = worms). Have already had to deal with scaly leg mites, an attack that took half the feathers on Miz Scarlett (she's fully recovered), and a broody that wouldn't give up. Hoping to get a solar heated waterer for Christmas!!!
We also have 3 horses we don't ride (don't ask,
); dogs and cats we've found or rescued and 2 grown children......a son in the Air Force, currently in Afghanistan; and a daughter who skydives out west & lives there too.
I use natural methods/remedies as much as possible and have been able to save most all of them so far. Even the uncooperative hubby
Hope I won't wear out my welcome with all my questions, but there's still so much to learn.
