Greetings from the Deep South! Excited to start this chicken journey!

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Brand new to chickens. Have several friends that have them and I've finally decided to jump on the bandwagon!

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
8 on order from Meyer Hatchery. Should be here first week in May. Can't wait!!

(3) What breeds do you have?
Ordered two of each: Black Jersey Giant, Dominique, Buckeye, and Partridge Rock

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
Been lurking for a while. Found the site while searching for information.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Love gardening/landscaping, reading, Movies and TV.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Divorced father of 14 year old daughter. No other pets. I work in Radiology.

Question: how do you get the little quotes and/or list of chickens that are on the bottom of the posts. Some kind of signature line?

You'll be getting some nice breeds! They should be good layers and docile, too.

To add the little quotes/lists to the bottom of your posts, go to your Profile (button on the upper right). Scroll down until you see the section "Your Forum Signature".
 
Thanks for the welcomes! Wyandottes7 I just did a search on the signature lines and found out the system has to get to "know" me before it will allow signatures...so that's why I can't see it yet. I'll have to be on my best behavior so the system will like me! :)
 
That's why I don't care for tech this and tech that. We liked you from the start - what does a system know? Welcome to the flock, hope you enjoy Backyard chickens as much as we do.
