Howdy from my little backyard farm and garden👋

Hey! Welcome to BYC!
And the stomach kinda reminds me of a brood hen , that pecks her stomach feathers . But from what you have said she doesn’t act like one. But I do think she is pecking at it herself.
I'm familiar with how the broody hens will remove their own feathers. We have 4 that are broody now, in fact, and I've never seen them get red like this from it. And I've had others die from egg boundness. From what I've read and noticed in my experience, they only have a day or 2 to live once they become egg bound. This has been red, to some degree, for at least a few weeks, maybe a week or more. I've looked out and notice it around her belly back towards her vent (but not actually around her vent) while she's just out scratching around in the yard multiple times and between everything else that's going on I kept forgetting to go pick her up for a good look. So I'm pretty sure it can't be that she's egg bound, I guess is what I'm saying... I'll just keep an eye on her.
Thanks!
