Hey, I live between Cedarville and Rudy, Arkansas, and work in Historic Fort Smith, Arkansas,
right on the border of Oklahoma. We raise several breeds - bantam cochins, black copper marans,
Old English Game Bantams, bantam Phoenix, Easter Eggers, and lots of guineas.
I love chickens, but bantam cochins are my favorites. They are all big pets on our farm.
I have been a "stalker" on this site forever, and finally decided it was about time to start posting.
Most of the Arkansas chicken folks that I see on chats are down around Little Rock, central area.
I am an original Okie, born in Langley, right on Grand Lake, but moved to Arkansas as a teenager.
We have two quarter horses, and we compete in Cowboy Mounted Shooting, so we travel a lot on
weekends.
We also have a border collie, a blue heeler, a rat terrier, and one black cat.
Our dogs all think our chickens are just part of the family. I do have some trouble deflecting the
glaring looks I get from my collie, Otis, whenever Brewster the Rooster is following me around.
They both want my undivided attention, and I usually need to be working.
Anyway, I hope to contribute to the wonderful backyard community in a good way.
