Hi, I've been lurking and learning for a few days now. I grew up in HI and always dreamed of having lots of chickens. About 2 years ago we got our first chickens- RSL, Barred Rocks, BA's and Bantam Cochins. We still have most of them and have added on to these breeds. We now also have: Cuckoo Marans, Buff Orpingtons, Blue Orpingtons, BJG's (I think- still chicks), D'uccles in Mille, Black and Porcelain, BBreds, White Leghorns, silkies, Silver and Golden seabrights, Chinese red/gold pheasants, Toulouse Geese, and more that I am forgetting. I counted them up the other day and it's around 105 chickens (alot are still chicks) with some classroom white leghorns not here yet. Last year I got an incubator and started learning the process of incubating eggs and got into bantams. Yeah, the bug bit me bad, lol. Thank goodness I have such an understanding husband who likes building pens. I want a few serama's (the frizzles/sizzles are AWESOME) as I think their crow is about the funniest thing I've ever heard.
Oh, and I also breed Flemish Giant Rabbits.
I have 3 dogs- Angel is rott/dobe and 10 yrs young, Puck is chi/x and is 8, and then there is Dizzy who is a chi that is only 5 months old. 3 cats- Lucey, Jack, Arnold. 1 snapping turtle- Charlie, who hatched out Halloween night about 4 years ago (from a reptile person- not the wild).
