Howdy everyone, today is my first day as a member. I have been raisen chicken for over a year now. I have quite a few I have currently 14 adult hens that lay. 12 young hens. 2 rooster. 4 ducks and 3 geese. My mommy geese (2), are currently sitting on 17 eggs. We are waiting the baby geese arrival anyday. I am excited. I decided that I wanted to incubator some eggs, which has been really exciting and exhausting at the same time. My first batch in a styrofoam incubator purchased at our local feed store, has proven to be a little difficult. I placed 30 eggs on the 10th of March. On the 1st I sucessfully hatch 7 baby chick which are doing very well. Being my first batch I thought I did fairly well but wish the turnout was better. This site has helped me tremdously. I have already placed a new batch in my other incubator on the 1st of April. Hopefully I will suceed this time around. Wish me Luck!

Welcome fellow Texan. Lots of nice folks on this site. I just have a few backyard hens I enjoy so I have to read about everyone else's incubating. Good luck on your babies!!
