Hi all! I live about 40 miles from Houston Tx on 5 wonderful acres of land. We recently got 5 chickens (4 hens and 1 roo). We have had them for a few months and got our first egg yesterday. They are assorted Bantams...2 White Japanese, 1 Black Japanese, 1 Self-Blue D'Uccle (I think) and the roo is an unidentifed Wyandotte. We also have 2 horses, 2 dogs, and 5 barn cats. Oh, and I can't forget to mention the husband and kids...14yr old son and 12yr old daughter. I look forward to sharing pics soon and using all the experinced folks here as my own personal reference library! Thanks in advance for all the help!

We're up north of DFW.

Went outside yesterday afternoon and noticed I didn't feel like I was being smacked around by the heat. Thought, "Wow, it must be cooler today." Checked and it was only 97. Woo hoo - cold front!
