Hi, I just joined the site today although I have been using it for quite some time for all my chicken questions. I joined today bc I actually have a couple questions but I'm guessing I need to go to a different section to ask. Anyways, thanks everyone for all the wonderful info, and I'm glad to see there are others who are as obsessed as I am!! :)

Glad you could join the flock! Many of us were lurkers before joining up I certainly was and so wish I had done it sooner. Plenty of obsessed chicken people here so you will fit right in :highfive:

Thanks everyone, yall are so nice! I am new to raising chickens, I have wanted chickens for so long! I just reminded my husband that we got a chicken as a wedding gift because I wanted to start then (which was 6 years ago). We didnt take the chicken, but after reminding him of that, I got my first chickens!! I had wanted to order longer ago for particular breeds online, but I hadn't convinced my husband yet. So they didnt have the breeds I wanted quick enough when I was ready to buy, so I ended up getting 8 pullets from TSC and 2 ducks (which were totally HIS idea). Then an acquaintance of mine told me she had RIRs (which was a breed I wanted) and that they were already 4 or 5 months old! So I ended up getting 6 from her. They are all laying now, which makes me happy!! :) Well in the meantime, I was constantly googling trying to figure out what breeds I got from TSC, I kind of figured I had 3 that were either dominique or barred rock, 3 that were wyandotte (1 silver, 2 gold), and 2 that were possibly buff orpingtons or white leghorns. So the last breed I wanted to incorporate was Ameraucauna or Easter Eggers. So I found 2 that were 5 months old and added them to my flock. Which led me here because I have tons of questions. My biggest concern right now is that my RIRs dont seem to want to accept my Ameraucanas (they were sold to me as such, but Im aware they could be EEs) into their pecking order. They are not overly aggressive, but its been a little over 2 weeks now and they wont come out of the coop, and if they do, they are chased until they retreat to the coop. Also, Im beginning to think one of my pullets from TSC is a cockerel, I will have to upload some pics sometime. And the 3 I thought were Dominique or Barred Rock, Im thinking now could possibly be Cuckoo Marans? Im not sure! Anyway, none of that is a big deal, Im just worried now about my Ameraucanas!! I want so badly to see them happily scratching around with the rest of the flock! Any suggestions or advice would be great!! Thank you all for the friendly welcome!!
