(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
No, I'm not new to chickens. I've owned chickens for 3-4 years before I was pressured to give them away by my parents. Now I'm back raising them. I have one little girl with me right now. Because of college, I think I can only handle owning one.
My first chicken Billie Bob Jean was from a mall petstore. She was big beautiful Australorp. Just one chicken resulted in three more batches of me raising them illegally in my suburban neighborhood lol.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Just one. I'm still thinking of what name to name her :) I'm open to suggestions!

(3) What breeds do you have?
She's a Serama silkie hybrid.
Previously owned:
barred rocks, silver laced wyandottes, silkies, easter eggers, ameraucanas, cornish rocks (which were more for pet owning than commercial eating!)
My cornish rocks were within the healthy weight limit and laid some decently large eggs.

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
The eggs and the girls. Always great to have a chicken hop onto your lap when you come home from school. And the eggs were robin blue!

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
art. first person shooters (Rainbow six siege). raising orchids. nature walks with my puppy Graham.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I have 1 dog and a new puppy. 2 cats.
Going to college to study accounting to become an Accountant or hopefully something more exciting :D
Almost finish with college. I have about one more year left till I graduate so I'm really excited about that.
I love the city life but I just as much if not more, appreciate the country life.

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? :D
Through internet searching when I raised my first batch of chicks one my first chicken Billie Bob Jean grew up.
I figured I might as well after having owned and raised since day one, 25+ chickens.
