Hello! I am new here. I've owned chickens and ducks for about 5 years now. I have an assortment of breeds: brahmas, rhode Island reds, Americaunas, sex-links and miscellaneous bantams(silkies, frizzle, old English, mixed game). I've had 3 different breeds of ducks: mallards, running and Pekin. I hope to expand into peafowl and emus once we have the land. My favorite thing about owning any kind of fowl is getting to see the personalities of each bird. Some are definitely just that, birds, but others have larger than life personalities lol I'm happy to be here and learn more about all the types of feathered friends! What's everybody's favorite feathered friend fact?

Sounds like you have a lovely bunch of poultry!

Since you asked, my favorite chicken "fact," which I guess I can't personally prove, is that chickens see more colors than people do. That may explain why some birds go crazy over certain objects. My young roo has no problem with the silver-colored feed scoop but HATES the white one and attacks it with vigor.
