Howdy! New member here. I always seek counsel when needing my chicken questions answered, so I figured I should become a member. A little about myself and birds. We live in Aurora, CO and are relatively new to the backyard bird game. In May it will be a full year with my girls. I currently have 4 hens and am trying to find 2-4 Cayuga ducks to complete my flock. My hens are a Rhode Island Red, Buff Orpington, Black Australorp and a Golden Laced Wyandotte. They have been an exciting addition to our home and couldn't imagine our lives without these crazy gals. Within the last 2 months they have started to lay. We got our first egg during a blizzard, in fact. My girls are constantly chatting and don't have an off switch (hahaha).
As I mention I am currently taking a good hard look at getting some Cayugas'. I've done tons of research on them but the hardest part I am finding is actually obtaining the birds. I feel a little nervous ordering them offline and I cannot get over the price of shipping. Hoping for a miracle that one of the farm stores around town have some. Of course it would help if they knew which breeds they were getting in.. Sorry for that minor rant.
Thank you very much for letting my join and I hope to gain as much knowledge as possible from all of the wonderful people on here!
