Hello,
I saw all the friendly introductions so I wanted to say, "Hi" and introduce myself. I live in Santa Rosa, I have 5 ducks: 2 buffs, 1 Welsh Harlequin, 1 Cayuga and 1 Golden 300 Hybrid Layer. This is my second set of ducks. I bought these through Metzer Farms but my first batch of 5 ducks I bought from the local feed store and they were Black Runners and Khaki Campbells. Great ducks but I was hoping for some females and as they weren't sexed I took a gamble and bought all they had left at the time which was 5. Well, they all turned out to be drakes! We kept them until about 3 months old and then they were fighting so much and no one wanted them we... er... ate them. Heh. It seemed the humane thing to do since the only other options were to watch them fight and wait till they killed eachother or sell them back to the feed store but then they would sit in a small cage until someone bought them. At our house they had the run of the place and being in a cage seemed so mean. I'll post a picture of them in my profile.
