Hello from Michigan, guess I will start by answering some of the template lol

Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I have been reading up on things since the beginning of the year and talking to my neighbor who also has chickens (for eggs and meat), and finally set things in motion at the end of march ordering them and getting them on the 31st of March.

How many chickens do you have right now?
A dozen

What breeds do you have?
Dark and Buff Brahma

What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Well eventually the eggs, but the extra pest control will be handy for now at least (and im sure something else I am forgetting), them being another pet too

How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
a lot of my googling and searching tends to come back to here so figured why not join to share info, tips, pics, etc

Any who I will be probably be posting the progress soon as its going on week 8 for them and I will be done with the coop in the next day or so

Do/will you process the meat birds yourself?

oh im planning on using them for eggs, my neighbors were the ones who raise some meat birds besides their egg birds (they take them in to get processed)
