Howdy, Peeps!

We have 12 hens and 2 roosters. These include Cinnamon Queens, Easter Eggers, Cream Legbar, and Black/Lavender/White Splash Ameraucanas. Their run-waddling up the hill when I call "Girls, who wants a treat?" delights my heart.

I have wanted chickens for years and in 2021 I decided life is too short to miss out on following this dream. We expanded the flock in 2022 (succession planning).

In addition to the laying hens, we started a small orchard (started during the pandemic) and have two dogs (one was previously used to guard sheep). I'm interested in fruit/nut tree guilds and permaculture orchards. Learned about BYC from a member who lives in my area.
