Hello Everybody,

Have been cruisin' the site for awhile now and picked up lots of good information so thought it was high time to jump in and join the flock - so to speak! Started out a City Girl but we were on of those crazy 70s families that went "back to nature" while I was still a young 'un so I also grew up with chickens, ducks, geese, pigs we raised for meat and dairy goats we raised for milk and show. Yes, I know the 4-H's - Home, Heart, Health and Hands. Married a City Boy and reverted back to my City ways for a long spell but have now moved to the desert and reverted to flip-flops, cracked heels and "How-the-H did that chicken s--t get tracked onto the carpet??"

I looove the Old Timers forum, and I have a really funny story about a molting hen and a blow dryer that will make 'em all hoot! I will post it there later because I see that I am getting chatty for a newbie ;) Currently have 8 hens: 2 Barred Rocks, 2 Rhode Island Reds and 2 Easter Eggers and also 2 feed-store chicks that are probably EEs, I don't care what that line was about "Araucanas" that they gave me. Think one's a hen and one's a roo - but I'll post later on the "sex this chicken" forum and let y'all decide ;)
