I was looking for chicken coop ideas and stumbled across this group. I am in awe of how kind and helpful everyone is! I am getting four hens and even though the timing is so wrong I am kind of excited! Working on the coop and a small run to tide the girls over and just get them somewhere happy in Southern West Virginia. I apologize in advance for all the ridiculous questions I'll be asking, but I am so grateful for you all !

No question is ridiculous unless you fail to ask it.
Don't make the run small. Make it as large as you possibly can. They need space to move around in, things to perch on, litter to scratch around in, deep shade to manage summer heat, spots of sun for sun bathing and loose soil for dust bathing.
