Hey everyone. Just wanted to introduce myself. I am from South Carolina. I bought my first 5 hens probably about 5 months or so ago mainly because I remembered going out every morning and getting eggs for my Pa. I knew it would be a great experience and responsibility for our children and provide us with eggs in the process 
Boy, I never realized how much fun chickens can be. I am now so addicted, but the good thing is that my husband is right there with me. We are becoming knows as the crazy chicken family. lol.. Our children even think we have gone crazy. Needless to say our flock has grown, we are up to 18 with 12 more in the box and should be ready in a couple more weeks. We have barred rocks 5, ameracanas 5 , black cooper marans 2, golden comet 1, and our new addition is a semara 1 , with Wheaton marans in the box 12.
We do have other animals on the farm, but the chickens are now my favorite. Dont get me wrong I love all of our animals, but there is just something about the chickens.
