I'm brand spanking new to raising chickens. My neighbours just offered us a dozen layers and a shed. I live in central Alberta so all of the cold weather info is already proving very informative. I'm sure I'll have lots of questions once I get everything set up.

I have a mix of lovely chickens. Bared Rocks, Leghorns, Americonas, Buff Orphantons,Rhode Island reds, Marans, and one old english game hen. I love them all!

Before I forget you may want to also post at "Canadians, check in here." for BYCER news in your region. The Chanticler breed of chicken was developed in Canada to withstand the extreme weather conditions. Great for cold!
