I am new to this site and have found it VERY helpful and am thankful it is here.
I am not really "new" to chickens as we have had them off and on for a few years but it truly has been only casual...few at a time...and never got into it --------- UNTIL NOW! I do love having them as y'all know - so much fun! And still have so much to learn.
We have a base group of 9 barred rocks (sadly just lost one to a predator). I then made the mistake, um, I mean, an awesome decision to pick up a few more at our local Family Center during chick days. I got a mix this time - Light Brahma, Polish, Rhode Island Reds, Maran, and Americana. Really do like the variety. Then, to add to all this, we "rescued" 9 ISA Browns. Anyway, we increased in number almost overnight. I still say - this is a lot of fun - and probably over my head but am going to stick with it and push through.
So, thank you for having this website and for all the input everyone gives.
