We are completely new to this whole chicken thing, and I was so grateful to stumble upon this website! A neighbor has donated a coop and has a brooding hen who is sitting on eggs. She has offered to give us the hen and chicks as soon as they hatch; probably this Monday! We're a little excited  We've always wanted chickens, but the subdivision where we used to live did not allow them. Now that we live in a rural area, we are excited to start a flock at last! Starting out slow, but I can already see us getting obsessed as time goes by
