scare a laying hen just before she goes to lay and she has no choose but to run around rather than laying. Then the next egg is already being formed while the original is still there (timing would have to be perfect). if you scare it earlier then you can end up with a double yoke (ive seen a 6 yoke torpedo's due to this). In some layer sheds they play the radio on high all day long especially if the shed is near a airport because the sound of a jet landing can cause the chickens to panic and end up laying double yokes. They get use to the loud radio and ignore other sounds.

It's the same amount of brown tint, it just got spread out in a thinner layer to cover that extra large egg, making it seem lighter.
